The Joy of Learning book explores how to improve education by making it more enjoyable to students—as well as to teachers, parents, and others interested in improving education. An intact human brain has a number of pleasure centers that feel pleasure when we learn and make use of our learning. Thus, a good educational system is intrinsically motivating to learners provided it is both authentic in the eyes of the learners and those facilitating the learning, and brings pleasure to both learners and people concerned about education. The nineteen chapters of this book present a broad range of practitioner-based and research-based methods to make learning more enjoyable, of more immediately use, and of more long term use. This book was specifically written for preservice and inservice teachers and other who are directly involved in helping students to get a better education.
