Occupy (Name a City)

Occupy Eugene (my home town) has been proceeding much like the other “Occupy” activities throughout the country. The Eugene group has moved from location to location, including a stint on the University of Oregon’s campus. It has received a lot of publicity in our local newspaper.

Earlier today I read a short article about school funding in Illinois.

Declining Level of Student Creativity

From time to time I ask myself if I am a creative person. I have never taken a creativity test, so I don’t have data of that sort to back my speculations. I  compare myself with other people, and I sometimes come out feeling okay. Of course, every once in a while I meet a person whose high creativity puts me to shame.

What Should Students Know About History?

History is one of eight subjects being covered in the United States national assessment programs. Currently, national testing is being done in math and reading. Not surprisingly, our schools are putting extra effort into preparing students for the math and reading tests.
